Tortolì Arbatax

Arbatax is the main coastal town; it is situated in a plain territory, with a tourist airport and port.  At the base of Capo Bellavista mountain there is a beautiful lighthouse, it is the suburb of Arbatax, an ancient fishing village next to the tourist port.
The coastal profile is vast; from the south stretch with the white beaches of Cea, Lido di Orrì and Basaura and on to San Gemiliano, a partly rocky beach dominated by the Spanish tower.  Continuing along the coastal, you will come to the estate of Porto Frailis (photo); further north, the coastline becomes rockier alternating between granite and red porphyry, passing by the little Cala Moresca cove before arriving at the famous Rocce Rosse.
Beyond the port, there is the beach of La Capannina, which takes over once more for kilometres before arriving at Lotzorai.  There are various archaeological sites to see, such as “Su Logu de S’Iscultura”; a pathway through the area where you have the chance to see numerous works of contemporary art.
The area is home to 10,000 inhabitants but this number triples during the summer season thanks to the many hotels, campsites and holiday villages.  In addition, during summer, there is a bus service leading to the beach for a nice and relaxing day and there are also lots of shops selling local traditional costumes and gift for souvenirs or presents and you could participate in the various fairs offering tastes of local produce, or if you prefer, you can relax in one of the open-air bars.
