   TRAIN AND BUSES IN SARDINIA

There is no continuous railway in Sardinia.  Aside from the “Trenino Verde” tourist lines, only a few villages are connected by a rail service, and the journey is slow, especially for the smaller villages.
From Cagliari for the hinterland to Macomer, Oristano, Porto Torres; from Sassari to Alghero, Porto Torres, Olbia, and others, visit -www.trenitialia.it- and -www.ferroviesardegna.it-

The ARST bus service connects the whole of Sardinia, but the problem is the journey times, in as much as the majority of the provincial roads are very windy.  The regional companies are: -www.arstsardegna.it- , -www.ferroviesardegna.it-  and  www.ferroviemeridionalisarde.it
